We are also recapping the place value of decimal numbers. In stage 3 we need to be familiar and confident with numbers of any size.

Quadrilaterals and Triangles.

Quadrilaterals are 4 sided shapes that have a pair of parallel lines.
The five most common types are the parallelogram, the rectangle, the square, the trapezoid, and the rhombus. We also found that the angles inside a quadrilateral add to 360 degress.

These are the 3 triangle we have looked at.

Week 2 -
Maths assessments have been complete and we are revising this week.

Converting 12 to 24 Hr time. Remembering to add or subtract 12 to the PM time.

Expanded notation: 1934 = 1000 + 900 + 30 + 4
This helps us to understand how numbers are made and what they are made of. The value of numbers is important to remember as we start to use numbers beyond 4 or 5 digits.

We have learned a few tricks to use when when times by multiples of ten.

Area is our focus for last week and this week.
We have memorised the formula LxW and have been able to find the area of simple squares and rectangles.

Today we challenged ourselves to find the area of irregular shapes.

Great work Cameron and Brad.

TIMES TABLES -

Times tables are a big challenge for some of us. We need to make sure we practice them at home.

Chant them
Say them with a partner - taking turns.
